Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Echo Voice Chat ("we," "our," or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that enables real-time voice communication between traders viewing the same cryptocurrency token on Axiom.trade. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We DO NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear: we do not collect, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• We do NOT collect your name, email address, or any identifying information
• We do NOT track your browsing history or activity beyond the current token page
• We do NOT log your voice conversations
• We do NOT record or store any audio
• We do NOT use cookies or analytics
• We do NOT sell or share any data with third parties

3. How the Extension Works

Our extension operates on a peer-to-peer basis:

• Guest Username Generation: When you join as a guest, a random username like "Bull1234" is generated and stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This is never stored on our servers.
• Token Detection: The extension detects which cryptocurrency token page you're viewing on Axiom.trade by reading the URL. This information is used only to match you with other traders viewing the same token.
• Peer-to-Peer Voice: Voice communication happens directly between users using WebRTC technology. Audio never passes through our servers.
• Signaling Server: Our server only facilitates the initial connection setup between users. Once connected, users communicate directly peer-to-peer.

4. Local Data Storage

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser using localStorage:

• Your guest username (e.g., "Bull1234")
• Your avatar URL (generated via dicebear.com)
• Your push-to-talk key preference (default: Spacebar)

This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser data.

5. Microphone Access

The extension requests microphone access only when you explicitly join a voice chat. Your microphone is used solely for real-time voice communication and is controlled by you at all times:

• You use "Push-to-Talk" mode (hold spacebar or your custom key to speak)
• You can leave the chat at any time
• No audio is ever recorded or stored
• You can revoke microphone permissions in Chrome settings
• Your microphone is muted by default until you press your push-to-talk key

6. Temporary Server Data

Our signaling server temporarily stores minimal data to facilitate connections:

• Random User ID: A randomly generated identifier (e.g., "user_abc123") used only for the duration of your chat session
• Token Address: The cryptocurrency token you're viewing on Axiom.trade, used to match you with other traders viewing the same token
• WebSocket Connection: A temporary network connection that exists only while you're in the chat
• Guest Username: Your randomly generated username (e.g., "Bull1234") transmitted to other users in the same voice room

All of this data is deleted immediately when you leave the chat or close your browser.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party infrastructure:

• Google STUN Servers (stun.l.google.com) - Standard WebRTC infrastructure for establishing peer-to-peer connections. No data is logged by us.
• Render.com - Hosting provider for our WebSocket signaling server (memecoin-voice-server.onrender.com). They may have their own logging policies for server infrastructure.
• Dicebear.com - Avatar generation service. Avatar URLs are generated based on your user ID and stored locally in your browser.

We do NOT use:

• Google Analytics or any analytics services
• Advertising networks
• Social media tracking pixels
• Any third-party data collection tools

8. Browser Permissions Explained

Our extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• host_permissions (axiom.trade): To inject the voice chat interface on Axiom.trade pages and detect which token you're currently viewing

We previously requested "storage" and "activeTab" permissions but have removed them as they are not needed. The extension uses built-in browser localStorage instead.

9. Data Security

Even though we don't collect personal data, we take security seriously:

• Voice communication uses encrypted WebRTC peer-to-peer connections
• Server connections use WSS (WebSocket Secure) protocol
• No data is stored in databases
• No logs are kept beyond temporary server infrastructure logs
• All code is bundled in the extension - no remote code execution

10. Children's Privacy

This extension is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used this extension, please contact us.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your privacy:

• You can stop using the extension at any time
• You can revoke microphone permissions in Chrome settings (chrome://settings/content/microphone)
• You can uninstall the extension to remove all local data
• You can choose not to join voice chats
• You can clear localStorage data through Chrome settings

12. Data Retention

We do not retain any user data. All temporary connection data is deleted when you:

• Leave the voice chat
• Close the browser tab
• Disconnect from the internet
• Navigate away from the token page

Local data stored in your browser (username, avatar, preferences) persists until you clear browser data or uninstall the extension.

13. International Users

This extension can be used globally. Since we don't collect personal data, international data transfer regulations (like GDPR) don't apply. However, we respect all users' privacy regardless of location.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

15. Supported Platforms

Echo Voice Chat currently works exclusively on Axiom.trade. We may expand to other trading platforms in the future, and this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
